On March 3, 2022, the Board awarded MBS Engineering the Plumbing Trades Contract for the HVAC Project at Bagby, Fammatre, and Price Schools based on their low bid. Due to the the discovery that existing utilities were not located as previously documented, a new gas tie-in location was necessary, requiring additional and associated labor costs to meet the school start deadline.
The revisions resulted in a 13.25% increase over the original contracted amount. A resolution is required to continue with MBS Engineering. It has been concluded that their costs are reasonable and going out to rebid the project would delay the project and result in unnecessary expenses to the District. |

Staff recommends the Governing Board to approve Resolution 22-23-13 and allow Cambrian to continue working with MBS Engineering and complete the HVAC Plumbing Services for Phase 1 Modernizations at Bagby, Fammatre, and Price Schools. |
