Summary
:
Schools receiving Title I funds are required to complete a Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) consistent with CA Education Code Section 64001 and convene a School Site Council consistent with the requirements in CA Education Code sections 65000/65001.
The requirement pertaining to CA Education Code Section 64001(j) normally allows a charter school or school district to use their Local Control Accountability Plan and the stakeholder groups in CA Education Code Section 52062 to meet federal school planning and stakeholder requirements.
For the 2020-21 school year, the Learning Continuity Plan replaces the Local Control and Accountability Plan and supersedes the requirements in paragraph 2 of State Executive Order N-56-20. As such, all schools receiving Title I funds are required to develop a School Plan for Student Achievement consistent with the requirements in CA Education Code Section 64001. The School Plan for Student Achievement is a one-year plan that is intended to be developed and approved before or during the school year for which the plan is being implemented.
Statute does not specify a timeline/deadline for when the development and approval of the School Plan for Student Achievement must occur; this remains a local decision consistent with the needs of the school and local community.
As such, the staff at Sartorette Charter School and Price Charter Middle School completed a School Plan for Student Achievement specifically addressing how the Title I allocations for 2020-21 are being used, convened and consulted with their respective School Site Councils consistent with the requirements in CA Education Code sections 65000/65001.
